I fractured my hand a week ago and I need help?

i fractured my hand a week ago and saw a doctor the next day. she took x rays and said that it is fractured. she did not mention the severity of the fracture. she did not reset the bones or anything, and she gave me a referral for the next week. so it my hand will have been broken for one week and in a splint for 6 days. is this 6 days too long to see an orthopedist and have a proper reduction? or does it not need a reduction?
