Is it good if you spit up flem when u got a cough? asap?

Just wondering because my tummy hurst fron coughing so much and I am on antibiotics for 10 days. Going to a concert to tomrrow I'm scared if I tell my mom I spit up or something she won't let me go its not ill 7 anyway. Any ideas?
