Is the liver panel truly indicative regarding the presence or absence of liver mets?

I'm just curious. For the past few months, my appetite's been lower, I've had nausea a lot, some intermittent low grade fevers, discomfort under my right rib cage and shoulder pain (the doc found no evidence of an enlarged liver though) and acid reflux/belching, but my liver panel was completely normal. Does this mean that my symptoms are coming from somewhere else, like my stomach? I don't know if this sounds stupid or not to you, I've just been worried :(
