A HERBST is a??????

Hi,I'm freaking out!I'm getting bottom braces today(I already got tops last week.) and whatever a TMA is (NO NOT TMJ LOL!).They said it is supposed to keep my molars in place for the two years I have braces because my molars are in the right place,they said it is going to sit in the top of my mouth.Can someone please help me figure out what the name of that appliance is?Is it a herbst????I'm so creeped out by herbsts.(No offense to people who wear them,they just scare me lol)TEN points to best answer...answer within 2 hours!
