New guitar player help please! advice needed?

okay so i literally started playing the guitar 6 hours ago. i bought a Squier, Fender guitar. i played the violin for 6 years so i know how to read the notes and i taught myself how to play the piano about 3 years ago. i have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar becuase it is such a beautiful instrument... except when i play it.... no matter what i do it is always squeaky or weird vibrations, im learning from this book that came with the guitar and i was fine playing single notes until i had to play a chord., they are so akward and my fingers cant seem to stay in the right place. and if i think they are in the right place it sounds awful when i play it and my wont tune! im so flustered i dont know what to do and i dont want to quit, one free lesson comes with my purchase so maybe that will help? i need major advice and please dont say practice, because i try and i suck
